Our Story
The Cairns Surf Life Saving Club was founded in 1924, making us one of Queensland’s oldest surf life saving clubs. For over a century, our volunteer members have patrolled the beaches of Far North Queensland, trained thousands of lifesavers, and woven themselves into the fabric of our coastal community.
Based at 135 Williams Esplanade, Palm Cove β one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia β we serve a coastline that attracts visitors from around the world. Our members are the reason that coastline is also one of the safest.
In 2024, we celebrated 100 years of service β a milestone that reflects the dedication of every member, past and present, who has contributed to keeping our beaches safe.
Board & Committee
Cairns SLSC is led by a dedicated Board and Committee of volunteers committed to the long-term sustainability and growth of the club. Meet the team who keep our club running.
Supporters Club
The Supporters Club helps raise funds and awareness for Cairns SLSC. Itβs a great way to get involved and support beach safety without being a patrol member.
Accessible Beach
Cairns SLSC is committed to ensuring everyone can enjoy the beach safely. We support accessible beach initiatives at Palm Cove and can advise on accessibility services and equipment available at our location.
