Cairns Surf Life Saving Club is inviting the local community to come along and experience everything the club has to offer at its 2026 Open Day.
Held in conjunction with the annual branch sign-on day, the Open Day will take place on Sunday 19 April 2026, showcasing the many ways members contribute to keeping our beaches safe while creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
The event is designed to give both new and existing members a fun and social day, while also providing an opportunity for the wider community to learn more about surf lifesaving, beach safety, and how to get involved.
Throughout the day, visitors can explore a range of interactive activities and demonstrations, including patrol hut tours, first aid and CPR sessions, radio demonstrations, and equipment displays. There will also be exciting on-water demonstrations featuring IRBs, Rescue Water Craft (RWC), and drone operations, giving attendees a real insight into modern lifesaving techniques.
For those keen to get involved, the club will have dedicated sign-on stations, information on training courses, and opportunities to speak directly with members about pathways into lifesaving, competition, and volunteering.
Families are encouraged to join in on beach activities such as flags, sprints, and tug of war, while enjoying a relaxed BBQ by the beach.
Cairns SLSC Open Day is a great opportunity to connect with the community, meet club members, and discover how you can be part of an organisation committed to saving lives, building skills, and creating a strong sense of belonging.
More details will be shared closer to the date.
